If your office or community administrators have assigned you a PIN code that you can use to gain access to the property, you will need to know how to use your code on any PIN enabled door or gate readers.

Using a PIN on a Reader

After approaching a PIN enabled reader, type your assigned PIN code into the PIN pad. In order for the reader to accept a PIN successfully, you must end by pressing '#.' The only time the '#' button will not be required is if the PIN code is 8 digits long. If you've successfully entered your PIN, the door or gate will unlock and you will be granted access.

If your office or community is utilizing two-factor authentication (2FA), reader further to learn how to use your PIN in that scenario.

Using a PIN for Two-Factor Authentication

If two-factor authentication is required at your office or community, you will be using both your PIN code and your credential in order to successfully gain access to any 2FA enabled areas. 

After approaching a PIN enabled reader, first scan your credential. This can be either a physical credential, such as a key card or a key fob, or a Sequr mobile key. If your credential is accepted by the reader, the reader will begin flashing.

Once the reader begins flashing, you will be required to enter your PIN. To successfully enter your PIN, type the digits into the PIN pad, then press the '#' button. In order for the reader to accept a PIN successfully, you must press '#.' The only time '#' will not be required is if the PIN code is 8 digits long.

Once the reader begins flashing, you will only have 15 seconds to successfully enter your PIN. If you do not successfully enter your PIN within that 15 second timeframe, you will be required to re-scan your credential before trying to enter your pin again.
